In Memory of My Pop
Hey, y'all. My name's Ilana and I'm from a small town in Florida called Wellington. It's not as pretentious as it sounds, I promise. But after living there for my entire life, I packed up my belongings after college graduation (May 2014) and road-tripped to Los Angeles where I've since resided. As a writer and journalist, it's been hard breaking into this competitive industry but I won't let anything stop me from living my dream. After a brief internship at The Hollywood Reporter in the summer of 2014, I now review theater around the city for BroadwayWorld.com while also working a full-time job in the retail industry.

A PERMANENT IMAGE Is A Poignant Yet Eye-Opening View On Death
BroadwayWorld.com - Jan. 16, 2019
I remember coming home from this play and not knowing how to process what I'd just seen. My mind ran a mile a minute trying to comprehend the message and the show's beautiful representation of death.

My blog posts for this magazine have gradually evolved into web articles, so they've become more interesting pieces of writing. This particular article focused on a concert in Palm Beach County. For the full-length article, click below.

Angela Terrell: Devotion to Music and Arts
Senior Times Magazine - April 2014
This story was one of my first profiles. Ms. Terrell was enlightening, and her passion for the arts is one I wish more people had. This was one of my favorite stories I wrote for Senior Times, a branch of Our Town Magazine geared toward senior citizens in Alachua County, Fla. I hope you find her story as inspiring as I did when I wrote it.
